Basque Beret | Campan
The Campan beret is one for connoisseurs. The best beret that Laulhère make and in arguably the most traditional of sizes (French size 9 / 25cm). The Campan name comes from the self-named region in Occitania - a commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Midi-Pyrénées region of the South of France. In effect, Campan is at the heart of the Basque country.
As such Laulhère's Campan is an authentic Basque beret. It is made in the traditional way, constructed from 100% pure virgin wool and has a distinctive soft brushed texture. The interior is lined in burgundy satin and features a leather band and contrasting yellow ribbon trim and a fabric braid. The design of the Campan beret label is the coat of arms in yellow on burgundy, long associated with the name. Due to the quality of the weave this beret is waterproof.
Laulhère, the last French beret maker. Made in France since 1840.
