Tails Menswear Label photo in the forrest

The planets are aligning and the moon is new. Such things precipitate change. At Unexpected house,
although the bricks and mortar do not shift, the fabric of things does. The news is this: the Tails family
is diverging. Or doubling. Depending on how you look at it.

evening wear look book

On a late summer's evening, the team took a selection of our evening wear, a bag of
questionable props (it takes some talking down to dissuade Joshua from filling every shot
with props of many eras belonging to his father Mark's collection), and our 'face', Owen,
to the beautiful old university district of Cardiff to shoot Look Sharp, a new look book that
hopefully shows the best of what Tails has to offer this season in terms of black- and
white tie. We hope you like the results. You can see th...

tweed pig

Tell me a little bit about The Tweed Pig – where are you based, how many of you run the
show, and how long have you been going?

First of all, thank you for getting in touch. It's nice to be able to have this conversation.
The Tweed Pig is based in the West Country of England. It's essentially me and Mrs T.
Although some people have asked whether Mrs T is a real person...

What's the philosophy behind The Tweed Pig blog and how did you come up with the
concept? How did you choose the name?

Timeless c...

Tails Look Book: A/W 2013

Posted on 1 Oct 2013

In the depths of a glacial spring, we took the Tails team on a jaunt through the wilds
of
Brecon: possibly the least hospitable place for a clothing photoshoot, but there were
compensations

A Baptism of Fire

Posted on 16 Aug 2013

Marais Paris Pub

Deep in the winding backstreets of the Marais, there's a forest. Well, it's a bar. It's a bar
that seems to be a forest. The line between what is and isn't a forest becomes a bit
blurred when you're looking at it from the wrong side of several glasses of vin and
assorted spirits.

In the middle of this forest, tattooed, bearded barmen free-pour shots, serve with a
squeeze of lime, bark in curt French if you ask for anything not on the menu. The
menu, by the way, is beer or something on fire. Ah, ...

Tails Look Book: Summer 2013

Posted on 7 Jun 2013

tails summer photo shoot

The photo shoot for the summer 2013 Tails look book, Man in Dunes, went off a treat.
The team chose Llangennith in West Wales, for its rolling sand dunes, craggy coves and
azure seas. The sun shone, giving us license to break for and extended BBQ lunch and
finish the day with a few drinks in a nearby beer garden. We hope you like the resulting
images as much as we do.

Welcome to the New Tails Website!

Posted on 31 May 2013

We hope you like our new look: it's been a long time coming, and we love it. Alex arrived
with us back in the dark days of early spring, and what you see now are the fruits of a lot
of hard work developing a brand identity for Tails that reflects who we are today and
where we've come from.

You'll notice we've had a change of name. It makes sense for us, given that 'Tails' is how
our business has come to be known amongst the team and those who work closely with us.
It's also cleaner and more cont...

Place of Origin: Yorkshire

Posted on 24 May 2013

Yorkshire

Yorkshire is rolling hills and verdant dales. It's grinding industry and soot-blackened brick.

It's cups of tea and 'mustn't grumble'. Yorkshire is many things to many people, but to us here
at Tails,
it's the place of origin of our trousers.

We all know the story of the British textile industry. But a few tenacious bastions of
manufacture hold out still. They're hard to find, but they're there, making clothing the way
they always have. Visit our suppliers in Yorkshire and you'll begin your hunt i...

We'd like to introduce the newest addition to the Tails team. Alex is a branding and
design specialist, and will be taking us to new and exciting places over the coming months.
Big changes are afoot, and Alex is going to be footing them. So seeing as we'll be
allowing him to run amok with our public image, let's get to know him a little bit…

Background I grew up in a village in North Wales, before studying Graphic Communication
at Cardiff Metropolitan University. I've worked in design and branding a...
